Bear Pencil Topper

Find your pencils easily by topping them with these fun furry friends. Pictured here is a Grizzly Bear, Panda Bear and Brown Bear. Or use any color Pom Poms you'd like to create your own special bear.

Materials Needed:

  • 1-1/2" Styrofoam Balls
  • Acrylic Paint - Assorted Colors
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Sharpened Pencil

Instructions:

1. Paint: Paint styrofoam ball with acrylic paint. Set aside to dry.

2. Making the Bear: For each pencil topper you will need 3 different sized Pom Poms (1 - extra small, for the top of the nose, 2 - small for the eyes and 3 medium sized for the ears and mouth). Glue one medium sized Pom Pom to the center of the styrofoam ball for the mouth. Add the extra small Pom Pom on top of this. Next take the 2 small Pom Poms and use a scissors to cut one side of each Pom Pom flat. Glue the flat side of each Pom Pom just above the mouth for the eyes. Glue Wiggly Eyes on top of them. To complete your bear take the last 2 medium sized Pom Poms and glue them above the eyes for the bear's ears. Set aside to dry.

3. Make it a Pencil Topper: Using the sharp end of a pencil push a hole into the bottom of the styrofoam ball about half way up. Take the pencil out, turn the pencil around and add your Bear Pencil Topper to the eraser end of the pencil.
