Ice Cream Cone Invitations

Here's a great way to invite family and friends to a fun summer party.


Materials Needed:

  • 2 - 6"-7" of Heavy Rug Yarn-Any Color

  • Glue

  • Printer - To print out patterns.

        (Invitation_Pattern.pdf) and (Inside Invitation.pdf)

  • Regular Scissors and Decorative Edging Scissors

  • Hole Punch (approx. 1/4") - Large enough for yarn to fit through.

  • Fabric Paint - Any color

  • Pen or Small Felt Tip Marker - To fill in party information.
 

If you have trouble viewing patterns (Invitation Pattern.pdf and Inside Invitation.pdf) download the latest version of Adobe Reader for free by clicking the Get Adobe Reader icon.

Instructions:

1. Print out Invitation Pattern and with a regular scissors cut pieces out of Art Street® Glitter Construction Paper in three to four colors. Invitation_Pattern.pdf


2. Print out inside of Invitation and with a Decorative Edging Scissors cut just inside of dashed line. Glue this to the Back Piece. Inside Invitation.pdf

3. Next lay Front Bottom Piece (the cone) on top of Back Piece. Then lay Front Top Piece (the ice cream) on top of this so that the two top pieces line up with the Back Piece. Glue in the overlapping area as shown.

4. With Front and Back pieces still lined up, punch 2 small holes close to the bottom left hand edge as shown in picture at the top. Tie one 6"-7" Heavy Rug Yarn in each hole.

5. With Fabric Paint, in a coordinating color, add the words "You're Invited" to the front of the invitation.

6. Add the finishing touch to your invitation by adding a circle of Art Street® Glitter Construction Paper (a cherry) to the top of the ice cream.

7. With a Pen or Small Felt Tip Marker, fill out your party information. Your invitations can be sent through the mail using a small standard size envelope (3-5/8" x 6-1/2").
