Plast'r Craft Penguin

Craft and mold one of the Southern Hemisphere's most interesting animals.

Materials Needed:

  • Plast'r Craft®

  • Soda Bottle

  • Styrofoam Ball

  • Scissors

  • Cardboard

  • Black and White Acrylic Paint

  • Tape

  • Mixing Bowl and Water

Lesson: Teach your students about the habitats and mannerisms of penguins. Where do they live? What do they eat? Why do they look like they are wearing a tuxedo? Did you know there are 17 different species of penguins?

Instructions:

1. Shape It: Place the styrofoam ball at the top of the bottle and tape it. Cut 2 wings out of cardboard and tape onto the bottle. Cut a beak out of card board and tape it to the styrofoam ball.

2. Plast'r Craft® It: Follow the directions on the box and start layering the Plast'r Craft on the bottle to the thickness that you want it to be. Layer extra Plast'r Craft® for the stomach so it looks larger and don't forget its tail. Let Dry.

3. Color It: With black and white paint, paint the penguin's tuxedo.
